Safe Walking Routes

Jordan Ridge's Safe Walking Routes map:

Parents are encouraged to accompany their children along the walking route to school. This allows parents the opportunity to point out potential hazards and discuss ways to avoid them. Please review the walking route map with your child/children, and ensure they follow the recommended route when walking to school.

1. STUDENTS LIVING WEST OF 2700 W, NORTH OF 9800 S, and EAST OF UTAH LAKE DISTRIBUTION CANAL (Country Estates, Summer Meadows, and South Pointe) should walk on the west side of 2700 W and cross at the intersection of 2700 W and 9800 S with the crossing guard.

2. STUDENTS LIVING NORTH OF 9800 S AND BETWEEN 3200 W AND UTAH LAKE DISTRIBUTING CANAL should walk north along 3200 W to 9800 S and then proceed east along 9800 S toward 2700 W and cross with the crossing guard.

3. Students living north of 9800 S and east of 2700 W (Regency, Chattel #4, and Park Place Subdivisions) should walk south along the east side of 2700 W to Jordan Ridge Elementary.

4. STUDENTS LIVING ON 2200 W NORTH OF 9800 S (Georgetown, Oakridge, and Windsor Estates Subdivisions) should walk on 9800 S and cross with the crossing guard at 9800 S.

5. Students living south of 9800 S along 3200 W or in the Campaign Memorial Drive area should follow the sidewalks north through their subdivisions to 9800 S. Then walk east to 2700 W and cross with the crossing guard.

6. STUDENTS LIVING SOUTH OF 9800 S AND WEST OF 2700 W in the Royal Meadow and McKinley Park areas should follow sidewalks north through their subdivisions to 9800 S. Continue along 9800 S and cross at 2700 W with the crossing guard.

7. Students living in Templeview, Bonanza, or Homestead Subdivisions, or living along 2200 W south of 9800 S should walk north along 2200 W to 9800 S. Then walk west to the school, crossing at 9800 S with the crossing guard.

9. Students living west of 2700 W south of Distributing Canal should follow sidewalks north through their subdivisions to 9800 S. Then walk east to 2700 W and cross with the crossing guard.

10. STUDENTS LIVING IN THE SPRUCES AND PINE MEADOWS subdivisions should cross 2200 W at 9800 S with the crossing guard. Then walk on the north side of 9800 S.

11. STUDENTS LIVING IN CHERRY HILLS SUBDIVISION should walk along the north side of 10400 S on the sidewalk to 2700 W. Then walk along the east side of 2700 W to 9800 S. Cross with the crossing guard.

12. STUDENTS LIVING IN HORSESHOE CIRCLE AND ON THE EAST SIDE OF 2700 W should walk north along 2700 W to 9800 S and cross with the crossing guard.

13. Students living on the west side of 2700 W should walk along 2700 W. to 9800 S and cross with the crossing guard.

14. Students walking from the Springfield subdivision should exit the subdivision and walk west on the south side of 9400 S. Students should continue walking along the east side of 2200 W until the sidewalk ends. Students should cross over the canal and continue along the east side of 2200 W. to the sidewalk. Students should cross with the crossing guard at 9800 S. Students should continue walking along the north side of 9800 S to Jordan Ridge. In the afternoon when students are heading home, traffic will be approaching from behind. Students should stay as far to the right as possible and be cautious crossing the canal.

15. Students living in the Cannon Park Subdivision should walk west to 2200 W. Walk south on 2200 W to 9800 S and cross with the crossing guard.

16. Students who live in Lawrence Circle west of 9685 S should walk east to 1970 W. Continue walking north on 9520 S and follow the sidewalk through the Cannon Park Subdivision. Then walk south on 2200 W. to 9800 S and cross with the crossing guard.

17. Students who live in Lawrence Circle west of 9685 S should walk east to 1970 W. Continue walking north on 9520 S and follow the sidewalk through the Cannon Park Subdivision. Then walk south on 2200 W and 9800 S and cross with the crossing guard.
